1 year to go

if booking a hair stylist and makeup artist to come to your house or hotel make sure you book them now or if they are very popular book them as soon as you set your date.

9 months to go

Always wash your hair with a shampoo formulated for your hair type and use a conditioner, particularly on the ends. Use an intensive conditioner once a week, wrapping hair in a warm towel for best results. Have your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks - even if you're trying to grow it. Call your stylist to set up a trial for the coming months. If you want a Saturday appointment with a freelance stylist now is the time to book in.

6 months to go

You should be having your hair trial around this time .You should have your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses by now. Take along some pictures from magazines and discuss styling choices with your hairstylist. Keep up the good work with the conditioners.
It is better to pick your hairstyle and then decide what to wear in it as the stylist can advise on weather a tiara ,comb, pins or something else would suit your chosen style. Bring your camera so you can compare the different styles that you try. Discuss your brides maids hair and book them in for trials if needed.Ask the stylist should you shampoo your hair the night before your wedding or on the morning. It will depend entirely on your chosen style.

3-4 months
make sure you are happy with your chosen style and call you stylist if you have any worries or if you need another trial just to make sure. Discuss your colour options with your colourist and gage your appointments so you are having your last colour about a week before your wedding.

1-2  weeks to go...

If you colour your hair, have it done now so it has time to settle, but not enough time for roots to grow through. Have a trim to tidy up the shape of your hair but ask bridal stylist first .Most bridal stylists would be happy to trim your hair for you at this stage as they know exactly how much they can trim off for your chosen style.Give your hair one last conditioning treatment.Do not do one too close to the day as your hair might be too soft to work with on the day.

On the day...

Enjoy your morning and the pampering you will receive. Make sure your chief bridesmaid has an emergency kit with a small can of hairspray and a few hair pins.
